Saturday Market and Horses

It's a beautiful morning, warm and sunny. After sitting to smell the sweet rotting earth and practice my yoga it's smoothie time! coconut papaya and pineapple. I am fond of adding cinnamon and grated ginger too!
Plastic bags are banned so we take out Trader Joe's bag to the market. We need a lot of produce, foremost is the Kanuna Dairy lilikoi goat's cheese. This year it sells for. $6.00
There are some amazing flowers and produce here to view: one is called Blue Jade, tumeric which looks like ginger and a weird translucent fruit called longsat which Dan tastes. He says look out! I am all unsteady and might hallucinate. He needs water to wash that bite out of his body and he's okay. another a furry bird of paradise and the others including ginger. . .
We have planned to attend the Heart for Horses benefit near Kilauea, high on a bluff overlooking the Pacific. We arrive early in the day and at once taken with the horses tied to trees in the shade. One was Percheron, dapple gray, a logging horse from an Amish community in Ohio. Some horses are abandoned, some neglected, some just put out 'to pasture'. This organization feeds and treats the old 'used' horses. They will extend their service to hunting dogs too. For twenty dollars we are happy to help. There were food booths and carriage rides and a silent auction for art.

We hoped to get to a beach today.
Driving through Kilauea, I wanted to stop to buy Dan a valentine gift and he became hungry for Pau Hana Pizza, which we were hoping would be at the benefit. . . we were both successful!
We landed on Anini for a walk and a doze. Even wearing a dress our time was sweet, watching a wind surfer in the bay.
We sat out on the bluff in a soft drizzle awaiting sunset. A woman rushed up with a bag of Bud Lights.
"Do you drink beer?"
"Yes!"
"Please take these, we'll be leaving tomorrow!"
"Sure!"
We popped one open and enjoyed it before dinner. Dinner was a New York steak and baked potato for Dan. Snow crab sushi and grilled asparagus for both of us. Very tender and delicious:)
Dan rented a movie for our evening entertainment. . .One Day, which was a lovely romantic story set in London. Upon going to bed I just started crying though.
I am missing Mirage. I took three pictures of her tonight for my other blog Suzy Guide Dog.
Another perfect day in paradise.
